Fuji, Japan – JATCO Ltd will be exhibiting at the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2024 YOKOHAMA, which will be held May 22–24, 2024 at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall. Furthermore, our President and CEO, Tomoyoshi Sato will hold a press briefing at our booth on May 22 from 9:20 am to 9:35 am.

Under our Corporate Purpose of “Driving the possibilities of mobility with technology and passion,” JATCO is responding to carbon neutrality and other societal needs, and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. Our booth theme this year is “Corporation Contributing to the Realization of a Sustainable Mobility Society.” In pursuit of the realization of a sustainable mobility society where all have freedom of movement, JATCO will showcase its electrification initiatives and new business lines.

JATCO has been proceeding with its electrification initiatives with the goal of producing 5 million units per year for electric vehicles by 2030. We will be exhibiting the 3-in-1 (for EVs) and 5-in-1 (for e-POWER) electrified Nissan powertrains, which are being prepared as the first units for mass production. In addition, our ultra-compact e-Axle, which we are independently researching and developing, will be exhibited as part of a kei-car-sized vehicle mock-up to demonstrate their compactness, utilizing prototype units that have been used in road testing.

As for our new business lines, we will be exhibiting, for the first time in Japan, a 2-speed in-wheel motor drive unit for electric motorcycles developed jointly with Zhejiang Jiuzhou New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a prominent Chinese electric two-wheeler drive unit manufacturer. We will also exhibit an electric-assist bicycle equipped with the 2-in-1 drive unit we are supplying MYVELO, a Korean bicycle manufacturer that we concluded an MOU with in March with the aim of mass production. Finally, we will introduce our joint venture with Zephr Corporation relating to mid-size wind turbines.
