JATCO makes its debut in Paris Motor Show

JATCO Ltd, a leading manufacturer of automatic transmissions and CVT (continuously variable transmissions), will for the first time in its history participate in the Paris Motor Show, which will take place at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles from October 4 (Friday), 2014 (press days: October 2-3). The last major European motor show that JATCO participated in was Frankfurt in 2001.

Regulations for CO2 in Europe are some of the most severe in the world, and they are set to become tougher in the future. That is why JATCO has decided to showcase its technology, which consists mainly of CVTs that contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions, to European customers. Through its participation in the Paris Motor Show, the company is aiming to show how their CVTs match the needs of European drivers, by promoting their superior fuel and environmental performance, and their high potential to be adapted to electric vehicles.

The CVT section of JATCO’s booth features an environmentally friendly new-generation CVT that is capable of providing a sporty driving experience. While the AT section showcases a 6-speed AT (automatic transmission) that is suitable for large FWD vehicles. Two transmissions are on display in the hybrid section: a step AT-based transmission for RWD hybrid vehicles, and a CVT-based transmission for FWD hybrid vehicles.

In the Hands-on Corner part of the booth visitors can try out a working motor-powered model that clearly shows how a CVT works.

Booth location: Pavilion 3, No. 213
