New office opens in Russia

In 2012 the Russian automobile market became the second largest market in Europe afterGermany. JATCO Ltd, one of the world’s leading AT (automatic transmission) and CVT (continuously variable transmission) manufacturers, recently established a new office inMoscowto be better positioned to meet this growing market’s needs. An opening ceremony was held at the office on June 10, 2013.

One of the office’s roles will be to insure the quality assurance of 4-speed ATs for small FWD vehicles (JF414E) that are installed in AvtoVAZ’s Lada Granta and Lada Kalina. The office will also carry out market research to find out what types of ATs and CVTs are best suited to the Russian automobile market, the results of which will be crucial in helping JATCO achieve its sales target of \1 trillion (approximately $10 billion) by fiscal 2018.
