Belt CVT for medium FWD vehicles (JF011E)

The production of JF011E started in the Fuji Area (Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture) in 2004 as a new-generation CVT to replace the steel belt CVT (F06A, production started in 1997), which was the first CVT in the world to be adapted for 2L class vehicles. Amid growing interest in the environment and fuel economy all over the world, the CVT has been highly commended for its excellent fuel efficiency. Its compactness and lightness make its installation in vehicles easy, also as it is adapted to the 2-2.5L class vehicles which requires environmental friendliness, itsapplication range was growing. Production started in Mexico in November 2005, and in China in September 2009. This becomes a global unit produced in Japan, Mexico and China. In July 2010, approximately six years after production began, a cumulative production of 5 million units was attained.

Since started manufacturing belt CVTs in 1997, JATCO has maintained its leading position in the industry through consistent efforts to cultivate and develop global markets, through commercializing world-first technologies. In 2009 it introduced to the market for the first time the CVT with auxiliary gearbox, which makes use of unique and revolutionary technology. Currently JATCO is the only manufacturer that has a full lineup of CVTs from mini-vehicles to 3.5 liter class vehicles. In 2009, JATCO recorded the largest share in the global CVT production at 41%.
