JATCO Ltd (Headquartered in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan: President & CEO, Shigeo Ishida: Capitalization, 29.9353 billion yen), an Automatic Transmissions and Continuously Variable Transmissions (AT/CVT) manufacturer, held a ceremony to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of its major R&D center and Korea-based subsidiary, JATCO Korea Engineering Corp. (Seoul, Korea: President, Masaru Sugino: below, JKE) on June 13. JATCO founded JKE in Korea as an overseas affiliate for its R&D operations in May 1998. Since then, JKE has become a pillar of JATCO group's analysis and development operation for AT units intended for Korean car manufacturers. May 2008 marked the 10th anniversary of its founding. The commemorative ceremony was attended by the head of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), as well as by around 150 representatives and guests from local car manufacturers and JKE suppliers. JATCO President Shigeo Ishida and JKE President Masaru Sugino also participated in the ceremony which reflected on JKE's history and achievements. While maintaining close collaboration with the development team in Japan through an exchange of personnel, JKE's 193 employees currently conduct design of transmission components, automobile application experiments, etc. JATCO President Shigeo Ishida delivered
