Tool resharpening service to start in Mexico

JATCO Ltd has announced that it will start providing a tool sharpening service in Mexico. Not only is tool resharpening one of the machining processes involved in the production of automatic transmissions, but it is also important for maintaining the sharpness of cutting tools. This service is aimed at responding to potential local needs, which have thus far been met by a small number of local companies. Scheduled to begin in October 2014, the service’s objective is to achieve US$2-3 million in revenue within a few years.

On other news, as part of JATCO’s move to expand overseas production – projected to increase to five times the current level – preparations are on track for its 2nd plant in Mexico to begin operating in summer 2014. This plant will play an important role in the company’s globalization.
