JATCO Ltd (Headquartered in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan: president & CEO, Shigeo Ishida: Capitalization, 29.9353 billion yen), Automatic Transmissions and Continuously Variable Transmissions (AT/CVT) manufacturer, will exhibit its products in the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2010, organized by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE), to be held at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall from May 19 to May 21, 2010 (3 days).

Focusing on the theme “JATCO, CVT for Environment,” JATCO, the world's leading producer of CVTs (Continuously Variable Transmission), will exhibit the world’s first CVT with an auxiliary gearbox in addition to a full line-up of belt CVTs from mini vehicles to 3.5 liter class large vehicles, and will introduce the superior environmental performance of the CVT. The booth will display an operating principle model, which enables attendees to learn about the actuation mechanism of the belt CVT.
Newly-developed transmission for hybrid vehicles which is based on the 7-speed AT for RWD vehicles is also exhibited. In addition, the video to have attendees gain an in-depth understanding of the new CVT and the new transmission for hybrid vehicles will be provided.

JATCO will continue to carry out all kinds of technological development for CVT to contribute to providing users with improved fuel efficiency and a more comfortable driving performance, including research and development for the improvement of performance, the optimal synchronization between transmissions and engines, and the development of lighter and more compact units.
